Rooibos Ritual is a proudly South African, founder-led bath, body and home-fragrance brand created by Janine Chettiar in Johannesburg in 2026.

Meet Janine

I created Rooibos Ritual because I wanted everyday self-care to feel more personal, more beautiful and more meaningful.

I wanted to offer people a thoughtfully handcrafted alternative to ordinary, mass-produced body care—products that look luxurious, feel wonderful to use and remain affordable enough to enjoy every day.

I am personally involved in every part of Rooibos Ritual. From developing and refining formulations to selecting fragrances, ingredients and packaging, every product is created with care and intention. I make our products in small batches so that I can remain close to the quality of everything that carries the Rooibos Ritual name.

South African rooibos became the heart of the brand because it represents warmth, comfort and our local heritage. It is incorporated into our range through rooibos extracts and signature rooibos-infused oils, together with ingredients such as nourishing plant oils, shea butter and carefully selected botanical extracts.

What began as my vision for beautiful, affordable self-care has grown into a collection of body butters, magnesium body care, bath products, gentle baby care, lip care and luxury coconut-soy candles.

Rooibos Ritual is still a growing local business, and I value every person who visits my market table, shops through the website, recommends a product or returns to purchase something they have fallen in love with.

When you choose Rooibos Ritual, you are not purchasing from a large, faceless company. You are supporting a South African woman building a brand by hand, one formula, one product and one customer at a time.
